The aim of AthleticsStatsWales is to try and give as complete a record as possible of the statistical history of athletics in Wales from the earliest times to the present day. It is vital that information about our sport is not lost.
Track and field, cross country and road running will be covered. Statistics will be the main focus of this site, but there will be articles on various topics. Information will be kept up to date and therefore a permanent statistical record will be maintained. It is hoped that the site will eventually give a complete picture of the sport in Wales. Some of the information first appeared in the book 'History of Welsh Athletics', published in 2000, written by John Collins, Alan Currie, Brenda Currie, Mike Walters and Clive Williams, who was also the editor.

Keep checking each section and the 'in the pipeline' box above.

At Aberystwyth on 24 May 1958, hero of day was tough Carmarthen GS boy Hedydd Davies. Half an hour after coming 2nd in 3m, he started the 1500m S/Chase and soon built up a half lap lead. With a lap to go he lost his shoe but he managed to carry on to win the race.
In Jan 1968 Welsh XC enthusiasts were shocked to hear that Gilwern's two Internationals, Adrian Aylett and Winstone Bradley, both announced their retirement. Their absences will be painfully missed by Breconshire's only club.
